How We Help

Finding the right place to start

When something isn’t going well, it can be difficult to know what sort of help you need. You may be dealing with anxiety, pain, stress, an injury or changes in your health. You might be concerned about your child’s emotions, behaviour, learning, development or communication.

You don’t need a diagnosis, referral or clear idea of what treatment you need before getting in touch.

Our reception team will ask a few practical questions about what’s happening, who the appointment is for and how you intend to fund the service. We can then help you identify the most suitable service and find an available clinician.

Speak With Someone

What happens next

  1. Start with a conversation

Call us, request a callback or complete our online enquiry form. You can explain what’s been happening in your own words. There’s no need to have everything worked out beforehand.

  2. Find the right clinician

We’ll consider the type of support you’re looking for, your preferred location, appointment availability and any funding requirements. Appointments may be available in person or by telehealth.

    Request an Appointment
  3. Attend your first appointment

Your clinician will take time to understand the concern and how it’s affecting everyday life. They’ll discuss what they’re noticing and explain the options available to you.

You can also book privately without a referral or diagnosis. There are no lock-in therapy packages. Gap fees may apply. Please discuss this when booking. Please note, we are not a bulk billing service. Most appointments will incur an out of pocket cost.

What we can help with

People come to ANSA Health for many different reasons.

You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, stress or burnout. Pain or an injury might be making it difficult to work, exercise, sleep or manage ordinary tasks. You may have concerns about nutrition, hearing or another aspect of your health.

Parents often contact us when a child is having difficulty with emotions, behaviour, sensory needs, attention, speech, communication or learning. Some families are looking for therapy, while others need an assessment to understand what may be contributing to the concern.

Sometimes the issue is clear. Other times, you simply know that something isn’t working as well as it could. Either is a reasonable place to start.

Our Services

Our Services

We bring mental health and allied health together in one place, so you do not have to work out which service you need before you contact us.

  • Psychology

Support for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, emotional difficulties, behavioural concerns and other challenges affecting daily life.

Our psychologists work with children, adolescents and adults. Appointments may involve therapy, practical strategies, assessment or consultation with other people involved in your care.

  • Occupational Therapy

Practical help with emotional regulation, sensory needs, routines, motor skills and participation at home, school, work or in the community.

Occupational therapists look at the activities a person needs or wants to do and what may be making those activities difficult.

  • Speech Therapy

Assessment and therapy for speech, language, communication and social interaction.

Speech therapists work with children and adults who may be having difficulty expressing themselves, understanding language, speaking clearly or participating in conversations.

  • Clinical Assessments

Clinical assessments can help clarify what may be contributing to a person’s difficulties and inform decisions about treatment, school, work or other supports.

The type of assessment recommended will depend on the questions you would like answered and the information needed.

  • Dietetics

Practical nutrition advice for children and adults.

A dietitian can help with eating concerns, dietary requirements, health conditions and building realistic food habits that work within everyday life.

  • Audiology

Hearing assessments and advice for children and adults experiencing hearing difficulties or concerns.

Audiology can also help clarify whether hearing may be affecting communication, learning, work or participation in daily life.

  • Naturopathy

Consultations that consider diet, lifestyle and general health concerns.

Recommendations are based on your health history and should complement, rather than replace, appropriate medical care.

Some people need one service. Others may benefit from input from more than one clinician. We’ll only suggest coordinated care when it’s likely to be useful.

Our Values

What you can expect from us

Our values shape how we work with clients, families and the wider community. They influence how we listen, how we make clinical decisions and how we work with the other people involved in your care.

  • Authenticity: we listen and speak honestly

We’ll ask about what has been happening and how it’s affecting day-to-day life before suggesting treatment or assessment.

You can expect genuine conversations and clear communication. If we don’t believe a particular service is right for you, we’ll say so and discuss other options.

  • Excellence: we take our clinical responsibilities seriously

Recommendations are based on the information available, the clinician’s professional expertise and what is likely to be useful in your circumstances.

We’ll explain our observations and recommendations in straightforward language and make time for your questions.

  • Innovation: we stay open to better ways of helping

Good care doesn’t involve applying the same solution to every person.

We remain curious, consider different approaches and look for practical strategies that can make a difference. Treatment needs to work within an actual household, workplace or school, so we consider your routines, responsibilities and capacity.

  • Community: we work with the people around you

Health care rarely happens in isolation.

With your consent, we can communicate with GPs, schools, employers and other health professionals when this would improve consistency or reduce the burden on you.

Getting Started

Your first appointment

Your first appointment gives you time to explain what has been happening, what you’ve already tried and what you’d like help with. You don’t need to arrive with a diagnosis or a clear plan.

Your clinician will ask questions to understand the concern, how long it has been present and how it affects everyday life. Depending on the service, they may also complete a physical examination, observe movement, discuss your health history or begin a clinical assessment.

They’ll explain their initial observations and talk through the available options. Where appropriate, you may leave with practical strategies, exercises or recommendations to begin using.

There’s no obligation to continue beyond the first appointment.

Please note, we are not a bulk billing service. Most appointments will incur an out of pocket cost.

Referrals and funding

Fees and the rebates that may apply are published in full for each clinic, because the services on offer differ by site.

We accept:

  • NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants
  • GP referrals under Mental Health Care Plans
  • GP referrals under GP Chronic Condition Management Plans (formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care Plans)
  • WorkCover
  • TAC
  • Employee Assistance Program

You do not need a referral to be seen. If you have a valid referral you may also be eligible for a Medicare rebate. Gap fees may apply. Please discuss this when booking. Please note, we are not a bulk billing service. Most appointments will incur an out of pocket cost.

Please speak with our reception team if you’re unsure whether a particular referral or funding arrangement applies to the service you need.

About ANSA Health

Why ANSA Health was created

ANSA Health was founded by clinicians who saw how often physical health and mental health were treated as separate concerns.

In everyday life, they regularly affect each other. Pain can change sleep, mood and confidence. Stress can affect recovery, movement and physical health. Developmental, communication and sensory needs can influence a child’s wellbeing across home and school.

Bringing different clinicians together makes it easier to consider the whole situation. It doesn’t mean every person needs several services. It means those options are available when they’re relevant.

Co-founder and Director of Growth and Strategy

I began as an osteopath wanting to help people move better and live with less pain. Over time, it became clear that physical health is rarely separate from emotional wellbeing. ANSA Health was built around the belief that care should be connected, accessible and focused on outcomes that matter in everyday life.

Co-founder and Director of Clinical Services

I’ve supported people through anxiety, trauma and some of life’s most difficult transitions. Too often, emotional and physical concerns are treated separately, even when they’re affecting each other. At ANSA Health, we look at the person in the context of their family, work, health and daily life, rather than focusing on one concern in isolation.
